3rd, 4th and 5th of July

Wow what an AMAZING weekend! So much to do in so little time.
This had to be one of the best 4th's ever. It had the makings of it from the start. It all started on Friday with getting off work early. Then heading down to San Diego to go dancing with some ladies on a boat. After that came surfing on Saturday. It wasn't to great but I knew what was on tap for Monday so it didn't bum me out at all. Then comes the best day, Sunday the 4th of July.
It started out like any other Sunday wake up late, go to church and then it got interesting. After church head over to my second families home for some YUMMY ribs and chicken with all the fixings. After that we headed down the street to the our good friends the Shield's for another BBQ and to get the 4th really started.
Now let me tell you something about this neighborhood. I have been lighting off fireworks here for almost 12 years. And every year it gets better. But this year was by far the best.
NO COPS!!!
Who know why but for some reason they were not on patrol this year. And it showed, now every year it seem about every other house or so has the really good fireworks. But this year it seemed like EVERY house had them. Watch the video to get the full idea of the war zone it was.

Now its not just about the fireworks here, its also about the block party. On one side its a Biker Gang next to them is a DJ playing tunes all night for the whole street. Then we also have these kids a few doors down putting on a rock show and everyone just hanging out being friends.
After the fireworks me and Kevin headed over to this girl's house for some midnight hot tubbing and cookies.

Next comes Monday and the BIG surf. This swell had been on tap for almost a week and everyone was frothing at the mouth for it to get here. It was going to be 8 to 10 feet almost every where. I started at 38th street in Newport and then moved my way down to the Point. For some tube time. After that I headed down to the wedge to watch some people get slammed for a bit (see photo above).

Next I met up with some friends for lunch and then off to the Happiest Place On Earth. To ride some rides and watch some more fireworks. It was a great way to end the perfect long 4th of July weekend. Hope you had a good time also.
-ENJOY-
