Merry Christmas

Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house. I was all alone, there wasn't even a mouse. So if you know or not this is my first Christmas alone after my family moved back east. So Im doing it my way. Every year I like to watch Christmas movies leading up to Christmas day where I watch a Christmas Story all day. The movie list is something like this,

But this I saved a certain one just for tonight.

HOME ALONE seeing that I am home alone I find it a perfect fit. So I went and got myself a cheese all to myself.

And settled down for a nice night all alone.

And since I am posting this I decided to share a little bit more. First off is what my Christmas tree and gifts look like.

Next is my two Christmas cards I designed this year. I design one every year but I couldn't pick just one idea this year so here they are.

So all I have left to do is make sure the house is ready incase some guys show up trying to rob the house. After all this is my house I have to defend it.

Skateboarding and TRON

I said a long time ago that TRON was going to be amazing but I didnt see this coming. Each rider has a iPod on them with an app running that locates them and measures air time and then sends graphics to the ramp. Its AMAZING what we can do these days.

Two More Reason Surfing Is the Best Sport

Fact 1: Surfing helps prolong the lifes of people with Cystic Fibrosis. The Salty Air and Salt Water help break down the mucus that makes it difficult for the CF patients to breathe. So While it's not a cure, surfing is still and amazing therapy for both the lungs of CF patients. Here is a video of a foundation that takes CF patients surfing. They have 21 stops around the US each year.

Fact 2: Surfing has be proven to help respite people with autism. Case in point Clay Marzo has Asperger's. And yet it helps him to be one of the top surfers. But it also has been proven to calm people who have autism.

Pipe Masters 2010

Once a year I get to design the Billabong Pipe Masters contest site. Its a big thing to me seeing that 1000's of people will see my work. When I first started graphic design I never thought it would lead to this. Its really cool to be able to say I design the contest site for the biggest surfing event in the world. So with that I just wanted to share with you some of the work.

Christmas Came Early This Year

So every year I like to get a new board (sometimes two). I normally do it for Xmas or my birthday and call it my gift to myself. But when I saw this beauty marked down to $275 at a discount sale I couldn't pass it up. So I decided I have been a good little boy this year and Christmas was going to come a little early this year. I have not had a quad like this in almost two years. And I am so stoked on it that I made this short little video to show you some of its best qualities. The Heat Is On

Yesterday these crazy goggles hit the shelfs.

The Vancouver based goggle company Recon lunched the Transcend Goggles in collaboration with Zeal Optics. The goggles are the first to have a heads up display and be GPS enabled. So what does that mean. Everything, you will now know how high you got how fast you were going in the SLOW zone and more stats then you could ever want. with even more coming soon check out the video for more details. Angry Birds

There is this game on the iPhone that is the best selling game ever on the iPhone. Over a million people have it. The game is simple you shot birds at stuff and kill pigs who have stole the birds eggs.

Its a fun puzzle game and the sounds in the game are great. But here is the

I just found out that out of the over MILLION people who are playing this game I am in the top 10% for the highest score. This is really funny to me seeing that I dont play video games that much. So to be in the top 10% is pretty cool. Now you may ask what does this get me? Nothing! just the statifaction of it and thats all. ahahaha oh well off to the newest game Cut the Rope...

COSMIC CREEK

Today some of my latest and greatest work went up down in Dana Point.

It is to promote this years Billabong's Cosmic Creek Surf Contest and Music Festival. This year we are doing a Halloween contest. With an all out Monster Bash. I will be competing this year again with hopes to make it to the finals. I have been surfing a lot and also been training with my personal trainer. We are once again having the concert at 7 Degrees in Laguna Beach. Now I cant tell you who all is playing the show this year but pass shows have included Warren G, Pennywise, Sugar Ray, and Donavon of course. If you are in town that weekend I wouldn't miss it. I know I wont.

Ok so I told you I would be back with more info. Sorry it took so long.

So sit back put your feet up it is going to be a long post.

I guess I can just run through the list of bands I saw first and then tell more about the ones I liked

Saturday:

Big Boi, Kinda Major, Papa Roach, The Knux, Bush, House of Pain, DMX, KISS and EMINEM

Sunday (after church):

Against Me, New Politics, Bad Religion, 30 Seconds To Mars, Suicidal Tendencies, Rise Against and Blink 182.

Ok now with that out lets get into the review. Im going to start with sunday since I already gave you a bit on the last post. I have seen all these bands before and since none of then really have a new album it was like the old days. Blink was still the same as when I saw then gee 12 years ago. Rise Against was cool and so was Bad Religion. But now Saturday that was amazing.

Saturday was HOT 113 degrees. But that didnt keep the fans away. Lucky for me I had VIP so it was shaded viewing areas and free drinks, lots of water for me. The day started out with some Big Boi, I love his new album I think because it is a true hip hop album that wont make it to the radio cause it really doesnt have any mainstream sound. After Big Boi I kinda just hung out in the VIP area until BUSH. Now this was funny I saw Bush back in 1995 and they played the same show then as they did now. But it was still cool kind of like a take you back in time feel.

After Bush came HOUSE OF PAIN.

Now as a long time fan of Hip Hop I was really excited to see them. The whole crew was there as well as a 3 person horn section. Making all the beats, they didnt use one prerecorded track. The crew came onto the stage with a B-boy rhythm and went right into a cover of Dr Dre's Next Episode. I was ready for this but I did get another in witch they had a shoot out to Guru from Gangstar who died this year check it out.

After House of Pain came EMINEM:

Holly Crap! is all I can really say. EM did more then kill it. He did all his old hits and all his new hits. Even did his part from Airplanes. Also had D12 come out and do a few song and you know they had to do MY BAND! This song was great live. Now I have been to a few other Hip Hop shows but EM really killed it he spit ever word live not recording here also. Had a live band and DJ pumping out the beats. Now you ask how do I know it was live. Well only because his mic would almost go out if he went to one side of the stage. EM finished the show with Not Afraid but did he the stage went black and people started to leave. But wait whats that from the dark came a stead beat that was getting louder. EM had one more in him and it was Lose Yourself the theme song from 8 Mile. People all over were losing their shit. It was amazing I might have to go to his tour.

After EM came KISS:

Yes the Knights In Satins Service them selfs. In full makeup and all the glory. I have seen KISS before back in '98. And this show was just as good now as it was then. With fire breathing, Kiss of death and all the piro and fireworks. They finished the whole day off with the best song they could I Wanta Rock and Roll All Night and Party Everyday.

Sooooooo I guess you can say I lucked out and had a great weekend filled with a

OVERLOUD of LIVE GREAT MUSIC

MUSIC OVERLOAD!!!!

Yeah as if that could happen to me. OK before I get into this let me start by saying I am blessed. I have had the most jam packed week ever I think. As you saw it started with glass seats at the Ducks game. Next was the field level seats at the Angels game. Then something happen that I had no clue of.

FREE TICKETS!!!

The next night I got free tickets to see MUSE and even better PASSION PIT. Was stoked to see Muse but more to see Passion Pit.With everything going to the beat they both killed it.

Then came Friday night and RATATAT!

Need I say more. The show was out in Pomona at the glass house and thats like a private show venue holding only 800 people.

The show was epic the finished off the set with an encore of Seventeen. Was a great show I had a great seat in the sound booth so needless to say didn't have to deal with the other 799 people.

Then comes Saturday and the MUSIC OVERLOAD.

Now I was going to go to oceanside to surf and do some jet skiing with my friends. But with staying out all night at the concerts I didnt wake up and it turned out to be good. One the surf was REALLY small. But my brother call and asked if I wanted to go to

KROQ EPICENTER

Um did he have to asks twice not with me. He had two day VIP tickets and a hotel at the Hilton down the street. So Here I sit in the KROQ sweat waiting for Blink-182 to go on. SUICIDAL TENDENCIES just went on and next is RISE AGAINST. So I am going to cut this short more to come next post. Stay tuned....

Haven't You Heard

Being a Dickheads cool. I've been saying it for about 3 maybe 4 years now. But this video says it best. My favorite part is the polaroid app on my iphone so everyone can see I'm having new age fun with a vintage feel. I think if wee all take a good look at ourself we are all dickheads in someway...

Angels In The Outfield

Or more like up the first base line. Last night me and a few of my "Angel" friends headed to the Angels game. I scored some tickets field level. Now I knew they were close but this is was crazy. It has been almost 10 years since I had sat this close. Back when I was dating Megan her dad use to give us his company seats right above the dugout. This was just as good two foul balls came with in catching distance. Lucky for me they didnt come to me cause I did not have a mitt, and it was have hurt to catch a fly ball without one. Well all in all it was good time. We had a ball park food did the 7th inning stretch and headed home before the crowd. Next on the list is Ratatat tomorrow night and Jet Skiing on sat.

QUACK ATTACK and Then Some

Tonight was opening night for the Ducks and lets just say it didn't go so well.

The got beat and got beat bad. Not only did the lose but they got in two fights and they lost those also. So the game sucked.......BUT the seats didnt few rows the glass.

As if I would settle for less. This is only the first of many games this season. And I almost missed it cause I was sick all weekend and monday but thats what you get when you surf all day. This last weekend it didn't matter where you were the ocean was alive. The east coast got great waves from hurricane danielle. Fiji got giant waves from a giant storm off the coast of Tasmania. Hawaii got an early season session from this storm also. And then we got perfect 7ft plus surf here on the west coast. If you were not in the water this weekend you are not a surfer, and I only say this because this swell showed its self early in the week and was yelling look at me look how perfect I am going to be.

Other then that I got better just in time for this weeks activities. Ducks tonight, Angels tomorrow and Ratatat on friday. Check back for updates.

Presenting the DTV Shredder. The answer to all my dreams. Designed to climb 40 degree slops in the snow and dirt. Can pull a full size Dodge Ram. And best off all it goes 30 MPH wide open. All you have to do is add a mini gun to the handlebars and its ready for war.
